As a product designer, it is rare to see a charger, which can be far beyond its function like Ten Pao Dual Mode Wireless Charger. Ten Pao makes a breakthrough that Dual Mode Wireless Charger is combined with charging phone and heating cup into one device. In other words, it is a wireless charger meanwhile a cup heater with a constant temperature. You may enjoy a hot coffee and charging your mobile phone cordlessly with one device. Product Appearance

Ten Pao Dual Mode Wireless Charger is designed in a disc sharp. The charging board surface of the charger is composed by two parts, a wireless contact surface and an anti-slip surface. The wireless contact surface is the Polycarbonate (PC) Plastic, the anti-slip surface is made by silicone material. The Silicone tape is a flat and strip texture, which can hold the cup steadily and presents in a fashionable outlook as well as be well in ventilated in order to cool down temperature. It is a 3-in-1 design.

 

The Silicone tape is detachable. Easy for cleaning.

 

Its side surface is so sophisticated that is designed in gloss.

 

Support with USB type C port.

 

Ten Pao Dual Mode Wireless Charger is combined with charging phone and heating cup with a constant temperature mode. You may just place a phone on it, then it charge automatically.

 

The heating function is the main selling-point of the item. Ten Pao Dual mode Wireless Charger is paired with a smart thermostatic sticker.

 

 

Thermostatic sticker is provided to stick under a cup and place it on the charger. Then the charger will detect automatically and run a constant temperature mode. It may provide a constant temperature around 55 degree.

How do we know it is charging or heating the cup?

There is an indication light at the side and shows 3 modes.

Blue light: Wireless is charging

Purple light: Constant temperature mode

Red light: Foreign object detection. (Demonstration will be followed later) 

 

2. Product Testing

 

Function light testing:

There are 3 function lights to be tested as below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have tested with standard QC charger and plunged it into wireless charger.

The iPhone 11 will be placed on the charger and the blue light is on. That means charging well.

 

When placing a cup with thermostatic sticker, there a purple light is on and shows the constant temperature mode.

When placing a coin on the charger, there a red light is on. The red light means that please stop charging or heating any devices.

 

From the above test, we may find that Ten Pao dual mode wireless charger is a sophisticated and save device to use. It may even be able to detect the foreign objects.

 

 

Compatibility testing of Wireless charging output

 

The Compatibility testing aims to provide a complete review of the wireless charging protocol. Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Samsung mobile phones will be tested. All testing data are monitored by ChargerLAB Power-Z testing tools.

Charging iPhone 11 Pro Max: Wireless Input Power is 6.02W while the calculated output power reaches to 5W.

 

Charging iPhone 11 Pro: Wireless Input Power is 5.5W while the calculated output power reaches to 5W.

 

Charging iPhone 11: Wireless Input Power is 5.82W while the output power is 5W.

 

According to its specification, Ten Pao Dual mode wireless charger supports 7.5W charging mode.

 

Charging Huawei Mate 30:

Wireless Input Power is 6.13W while the calculated output power reaches to 5W.

 

Charging Huawei Mate 20 Pro:

Wireless Input Power is 6.13W while the calculated output power reaches to 5W.

 

Charging Xiaomi 9: Wireless Input Power is 12.51W while the calculated output power reaches to 10W.

 

Charging Samsung S10+: Wireless Input Power is 12.51W while the output power reaches to 10W.

 

Charging Samsung S8+: Wireless Input Power is 10.02W while the output power reaches to 10W.

 

 

According to the above chart, Ten Pao Dual mode wireless charger supports Samsung (S10+、S8+) 10W wireless charging mode, also supports Xiaomi 9 fast charging mode. The other tested objects are supported with 5W charging mode.

 

Samsung S10 Charging Test (Monitoring from 0% to 100% power)

 

Ten Pao Dual mode wireless charger supports Samsung (S10+、S8+) 10W wireless charging mode. The below test aims to monitoring the charging power conditions and changes, from 0% to 100%. All testing data are monitored by ChargerLAB Power-Z testing tools.

 

According to the above power fluctuation chart, 10W charging mode was lasted for the first 35 mins, then there was a sudden drop, to 4.75W, and lasted for a few minutes. There is a regular fluctuation, from 10W-4W, which forms a Concave-convex curve shape. The charging period lasts for 3 hours and 11mins and the maximum power is 11W.

 

Let’s see the Samsung S10+ power curve.

 

It takes 30 mins to charge 20% power, 1 hour / 36% power, 1.5 hours/ 52%power.

Full power charging takes 3 hours and 11 mins.

 

Constant temperature mode test (tested with a cup of water)

 

Testing the heating function of Ten Pao dual mode wireless charger. It is tested with a cup of water and its temperature. The temperature are measured with a standard thermometer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Result of the test:

The temperature would keep 55 degree constantly after charging 1.5 hours.

What if there is an empty cup on the wireless charge?

From the above picture, the working power of the charger with an empty cup is 17.58W. It is still operating with an empty cup.

 

Would the temperature rise ?

 

The temperature will be closely monitored every 5 mins with a FLIRthermometer.
